- The Caroline Walker Trust was founded in 1988 after the death of the distinguished nutritionist, writer and campaigner, Caroline Walker.

Established to continue her work and in her spirit, the CWT depends wholly on donations, legacies and project grants.

The work of the CWT is particularly targeted towards vulnerable groups and people who need special help. We produce nutritional and practical guidelines for both young and old.

Latest news from The Caroline Walker Trust

2008 is our Twentieth Anniversary year and to mark this occasion the Trust will be running a one day conference on Tuesday 25th November 2008. Please put this date in your diary now. The conference will be designed to appeal to policy makers, practitioners, health professionals, students and supporters of the Trust and the aim of the day is to cover aspects of public health nutrition to:
  • Provide a platform for a timely reminder of the importance of promoting a wide range of public health nutrition issues and improving nutritional provision amongst vulnerable groups

  • Summarise key public health issues that need to be tackled

  • Highlight key areas for intervention at local and national level

The theme will cover nutrition from pregnancy, through early years to old age with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups and will encompass Caroline’s life and goals and history of the Trust, with an up-to-date summary of all recommendations.

Places will be limited so if you want to be the first to receive further information on this conference please sign up to our e-newsletter.

Our report Eating well: children and adults with learning disabilities is now available and a downloadable summary of the recommendations and practical guidelines made in this report can be accessed from the Publications page.
