CWT Eating Well Conference 2008

The annual event provides an opportunity for individuals from a range of backgrounds such as industry, science, media and government to come together and interact. The usual format is that of a keynote speech or series of lectures during the evening or at an all day event.
The Trust has been fortunate to have hosted a number of lectures since it began in 1988, all of which have been given by distinguished scientists and policy makers. Each lecture highlights a specific important aspect of the relationship between good food and public health. Most of these lectures are available as PDF downloads and although the PDFs are free, donations can be made online and are much appreciated.
Further information can be found on the lectures page.
The 2009 Annual Lecture and Awards will take place at Kensington Town Hall on Tuesday November 10th 2009, from 6.30pm-9.30pm. This year we are holding a joint event with The Food Commission and our speaker will be the food writer and historian Bee Wilson whose lecture will be entitled Death in the Pot! Food Adulteration Past and Present
CWT & Maggie Sanderson Student Awards
The CWT has for a number of years been running an awards scheme.
This has been designed to recognise the work of those who have sought to improve public health through good food.
Previous winners of the Caroline Walker Trust Award have ranged from scientists with international reputations to local food and community groups endeavouring to improve the health and well-being of local communities. We would like to continue the tradition of recognising those individuals and groups who have made valuable contributions in this area.
The Maggie Sanderson Student Awards recognise and celebrate Honours degree (post graduate) student's work which contribute to the ideals of the Trust, the promotion of public health through good food. Submissions are sought via recommendation from course leaders and The Trust is particularly interested in work with a practical outcome - a piece of research which makes a difference.
Maggie Sanderson Student Awards
This year, the Maggie Sanderson Student Award will be an essay prize of £500 for the best essay on a specified topic from a student on an accredited nutrition degree course. Details of the essay prize have been distributed to course leaders across the UK, but if anyone wants further information about the Maggie Sanderson Student Awards, please contact Lisa. The prize winner will be invited to the Annual Lecture and Awards and the winning essay will be put up on the CWT website.
CWT Awards
This year the awards for people or projects who have made a significant impact on public health nutrition and food quality will be nominated and selected by the Trustees, Directors and staff of CWT and The Food Commission.
